Tell That Fox

8×8″ oil paint on cradled artist board; use ‘comment’ below to inquire.
When Jesus was told that Herod wanted to kill him and that he should run away to another place, Jesus answered: “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ (Lk 13:32)
Sister Maresa your gift of painting is astounding! So many of your pieces stirred me to appreciate nature & how we must be stewards of the earth to preserve the flowers, fields, & animals God created. I suspect you like water colors? My favorite is this one because Jesus has a “ don’t mess with me look” that should thwart any evil. However I get lost in the beauty of the bucolic landscapes with or withou the lambs! My number 2 is the one with Jesus sitting under the tree with the lambs close by. Keep painting!
Dear Carol,
Your comments really touched me; thank you. Sometimes I wonder what people will think of my ideas of Jesus, strong and fearless to humorous or tender. Meeting him in person one day will surely throw all my ideas out the windows, but in the meantime, I strive to convey something of this immense person idyllically or realistically, mostly to make others think their own thoughts about Him. I am delighted that you are receiving them with such an open heart. This week, I am finishing up some more sheep and shepherd paintings because they keep selling off my shop Paintgrace. People seem to relate to the messages of these little works. Thank you so much for being among them. Yes, I love watercolors! But they are a whole other discipline!
