I painted this angel from a photo of sculpture. I am drawn most often to the lines and planes that carved images present. Of course, I take a few of my own liberties like the ball of light. The statue had lost its arms over time.

So, so lovely. The draping is amazing. That’s how I picture a guardian angel.
