Our Lady of Guadalupe

14 x 11″ oil paint on artist board, special commission

In 1531, Our Lady appeared to Aztec Juan Diego, leaving her image on his cloak (tilma). To this day the image is venerated and celebrated, especially in Mexico. Throughout the Catholic Church, December 12 is the Feastday of Mary under this title, as we honor her as the Patroness of the Americas. This is a colorful simplification of the famous image for a customer.
