Here is another quick sketch in paint of a young Jewish woman of long ago. Though she is a bit delicate looking at first glance, I hoped to express a strength of character in her eyes and facial expression.

A special project led me into imagining and painting Jewish women of long ago. This little painting was my first attempt. I think I will try again and simplify the clothing. And her skin may yet be too fair.
Guardian Dear
The painting above came from a little figurine that once nestled in a plant that someone gave me. I saved her for still life purposes. I thought she might look nice atop the floral print cloth that provided some swirling lines that mimic the curves of her wings.
Little Maestro
Classical music coming through the fingers of a child never ceases to amaze me. Can this not be another demonstration of the existence of God? This young girl is now a teenager and her violin makes even greater music. And yes, I am still working on this painting.
Bunny Trail
And sleeping under all this snow? The Lenten Season has just begun, and though it means a time of solemn return to the Lord in preparation for the Easter Celebration, the ancient Teutonic roots of the word “Lent” means “Springtime.” Nothing could ever represent better the abundance of nature’s rebirth in Spring as the furry rabbit, so prolific, and such a symbol of new life. I admit, I am getting ahead of our situation with this painting. Spring is still more than a month away, but it is not a bad idea to begin any project with the end in mind.
