St. Julie Billiart was of the country folk of Cuvilly, France. She made no secret of the fact that she was a peasant girl of simple upbringing. Her congregation, the Sisters of Notre Dame of Namur in Belgium, typified her in a display of table settings. This is only the groundwork of the painting, and tomorrow I will post the finished work. I also hope to do another painting of a setting for her companion and co-sister, Francoise Blin de Bourdon.
