I painted the Lady Liberty statue a few times in red, white, and blue, so I thought I would memorialize Abraham Lincoln the same way. The board has painted sides in bold red that tie all together into a patriotic statement. I used a free photo of statuary which clarifies planes of light and dark.

Of David’s royal line, Mary no doubt bore the genetics of her race…perhaps a bit more Mediterranean in her earthly presence.

I remember a peach tree that grew outside the back of our house when I was young. My mom made jams and pies with its fragrant fruit, so here is a tribute to such gifts of the earth.

I gravitate toward impressionistic paintings with lots of paint and line design. My paintings are weak in both categories, but I keep trying. Bold and beautiful color is another plus! As for bouquets of flowers, to my way of thinking, the more unplanned and cascading the better!
