Bamboo and Bouquet
Sunflowers and Roses

This bouquet served as a table centerpiece last spring, and I finally decided to render my photo of it in paint.
Miniature Tulips

Every now and then I am drawn to paint a still life. Unusual muted hues and arrangement are what entice. The peaceful beauty of mauves, grays, and aquas in the free photo I used could not be resisted.
Criss-Crossed

Have you seen these flowers in bouquets? They are great fillers if not used alone. They’re name is as playful as their look: Billy Balls.
Decked Out

Even before Halloween this year, I noticed some commercial “decking of the halls” around town. Traditionally, we Sisters of Notre Dame try to put in a somewhat solemn Advent preparation before we pull out all the stops for wondrous Christmas Day. However, joyful anticipation undoubtedly fuels celebration.
Half Past

After tedious work on portraits, I often revert to a fun floral. This was painted from a free photo on Pixabay with the identification of Katzenfee50.jpg. I try to avoid cliche in my work, and these tired tulips lit from above called my name. The photographer no doubt felt the same.
Ribboned Floral

I was asked to paint from a friend’s lovely photo of this elegant vase of flowers. Hopefully it meets expectations.
By Any Other Name

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Shakespeare’s Juliet.
Willow Pear Blossoms

I never liked polka dots as a personal choice in attire, but when nature scatters them around, I cannot resist.
Basket of Roses

In the actual painting, the yellows are more soft and subtle and the pinks are warmer than my camera can capture, even after much digital finessing. I liked the looseness of the flowers and worked for looseness with the paint.
