Miniature Tulips

Every now and then I am drawn to paint a still life. Unusual muted hues and arrangement are what entice. The peaceful beauty of mauves, grays, and aquas in the free photo I used could not be resisted.

Half Past

After tedious work on portraits, I often revert to a fun floral. This was painted from a free photo on Pixabay with the identification of Katzenfee50.jpg. I try to avoid cliche in my work, and these tired tulips lit from above called my name. The photographer no doubt felt the same.

By Any Other Name

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Shakespeare’s Juliet.

Special Delivery

I am smitten with the paintings of Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vietnamese artist. So I am still leaking some of his inspiration.
