For many years, we have had some busy and hard-working tenants, thousands of them. They are our little friends the honey bees, tended by a beekeeper, whose business with these fascinating creatures provides us with a pollinated orchard of apple trees, a fantastic relationship. We also benefit from the occasional gift of world class honey. These bee hives are on our property in Chardon, Ohio. The little white house in the background, we call Marydale, and we use it as a guest house. I sat on our last really hot, sunny day this September to begin to put the bees in their context here. I still have some highlights to strengthen, detail to refine, and the hint of bees buzzing around the hives.
