Two golden begonia blooms emerged from lines, pot, and leaves one day, as I passed by my mother’s front porch. As long as a plant showed the scraggliest of hope, clinging to life, she would tend it carefully. But these flowers were thriving in their hanging pot, when I snapped their photo and tucked it away for a future painting. To life!
