On Pilgrimage-2

Today in Vechta, we who are visitors are drinking in some Westphalian beauty, and seeing the schools and children’s home that our Sisters have here. They are of excellent calibre and true descendents of our foundress’s heart that was so turned toward children and their education.

As Hilligonde grew into a young adult in this region of Germany, she dreamed of giving her life to serve in far away lands as a missionary. It was the beginning of a dream God had for her beyond her greatest imaginings.

Julie wanted to send her Sisters all over the world to teach all children of the goodness of God.

Peony Pomp

Glorious heads of peony still call to me from our courtyard garden. Recently, I found this hand-painted vase to showcase them, and I had no inhibitions about playing up the pinks and lavenders.

Butterfly #11

This bright butterfly reminds me of a small kite, its striking color flitting against the blue sky. Another butterfly fact is that it has no mouth, only a long proboscis to extend and drink sweet nectar.

Daisies in a Jar

Summer fields flecked with white…up close it’s the charm of white petals with yellow faces that we call daisies. Ever hardy, ever available, ever the compliment to the other flowers in a bouquet, the daisy is simplicity on a stem.

Butterfly #10

Butterflies leave no waste other than an occasional mist that is nearly pure water. No wonder we like them so much!

Meet Sr.Maresa

I am Sister Maresa Lilley, a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame, located in Chardon, Ohio, USA. For many years, I have enjoyed a passion that permits me to reflect upon simple reality with a brush in hand. To capture a simple essence on canvas and to discover inherent beauty is a daily immersion.
