Pink Peonies in Crystal

There is nothing so fresh and fragrant as opening peonies. These are single petal peonies of a creamy pink hue. To keep everything soft and fresh looking, I tried not to overwork any part, especially the pitcher. Its many facets were tempting to spell out, but I tried for only a hint of the diamond shape pattern cut into the glass.
Butterfly #6

Here is a delicate, buttery winged butterfly, childlike in design, utter simplicity in flight.
May Dance

Blessed Springtime all around… and lovely peonies open to the warm sun. I caught these flowers still in the bud, but brimming with inner energy to blossom.
Peonies and Lilac in Crystal

Ah, sweet fragrances of Spring… Nothing scents the air like the first blossoms of May. Earth raises its own incense to the heavens, especially in the clusters of lilac here celebrated in paint.
Butterfly #5

One marvel of the butterfly is that it eats its way from pupa to caterpillar to a hanging chrysalis where, inside, it transforms into a kind of genetic “soup”. From this matter a new creature takes shape in dark and silence and later emerges as a wondrous winged beauty, so fragile and so brief in time. This small painting is monarch-like.
