Cubist Guitar

Cubism: an expression of an art subject in simple geometric forms without limitations of reality. The emphasis is more on line, color, and design

The art world era of cubism of the early 20th century, never really grabbed or inspired me until I saw the work of Vincente Manansala, a Filipino artist of the same era. His work I found captivating with a stain glass-like style of cubism, bold color, and black accents. His subject matter, was and is today so endearing of family and devotional life in his culture. So here is my humble attempt at trying to figure out a cubistic way to display “guitar.”

5×5″ oil paint on gessoed artist board; contact the artist for purchase information.
