Fruit of the Vines

September sun tempered these delicious tomatoes dropping from their vines. I carried a whole fragrant basket home, fresh picked and bursting with juice. Nothing gets eaten before the question is raised: Will it last long enough to be painted? Such is my judgment upon garden gifts these days.
