For the birds, life as usual. Prayers for all during this time.

I am Sister Maresa Lilley, a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame, located in Chardon, Ohio, USA. For many years, I have enjoyed a passion that permits me to reflect upon simple reality with a brush in hand. To capture a simple essence on canvas and to discover inherent beauty is a daily immersion.

I also paint. I have often felt the need to loosen up my style. Your renderings are very free and I hope by studying them I can learn to be less precise as well. I especially love the birds and have several bird pictures I want to paint this spring. Birds are such sweet and colorful creatures. I am inspired and enlightened by your work.
P.s. I also love the lambs
Dear Leslie,
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Maybe you can see that I love looseness in my paintings, and I lament when I get too tight, my natural inclination. I prefer impressionistic, symbolic, leave some guesswork to the viewer style. I would only say to you, paint your heart out. Make no serious judgments on your work that would limit your pathway through paint. Bless you and stay well!
