Tender Shepherd
An old tv version of “Peter Pan” had a sweet song that was the Darling children’s night prayer. “Tender Shepherd, Tender Shepherd watches over all His sheep…” a line from the song. It just seemed a fitting title for this work.
Many Are Called
In the parable of the wedding feast in Mt. 22:14, Jesus says, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” These sheep looked to me as if they were responding to the shepherd….almost.
My Light
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear?” (Ps. 27)
All Is Well
He sleeps yet his heart is awake.
Verdant Pastures
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. In verdant pastures He gives me repose. (Ps. 23:1)
