Great Eagle

14 x 11″ oil paint on artist board

Here is the finished product of previous sketch. Something about this noble face drew me in. I found him in historic photos of black and white. I do not know his real name.

Great Eagle Beginnings

rough sketch of painting to be… 14 x 11″ oil paint on gessoed artist board

I usually do my use of space and general light and dark plan before I take to actual painting. This stage is often a far cry from the end result. See following post for transformation.

Motor Girl

5.75 x 7.25 oil paint on canvas sheet

For the time being I may have gotten some of Ngyuen Thanh Binh out of my system. I do aspire to his kind of essence in oil paint.

Bird Girl

8 x 6″ oil paint on canvas sheet

After the simplicity of Nguyen Thanh Binh. The previous post has the explanation for these last two paintings.

Flower Girl

8 x 6″ oil paint on canvas sheet

I am so inspired by the lovely simplicity of the striking work of Vietnamese painter Nguyen Thanh Binh that I had to try a spin off myself. Mine lacks his genius, and if you search his name you may agree!

Meet Sr.Maresa

I am Sister Maresa Lilley, a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame, located in Chardon, Ohio, USA. For many years, I have enjoyed a passion that permits me to reflect upon simple reality with a brush in hand. To capture a simple essence on canvas and to discover inherent beauty is a daily immersion.
