Symbiosis
This large painting took a lot of paint and a lot of detail. I have wanted to do the stunning zebra with its formal attire for some time and dared the challenge of two! And because I wanted some movement in the quiet scene, I added the egrets. As the zebras nuzzle through and eat grass, the egrets feast off the insects stirred up around them. They also eat them off the backs of these wondrous creatures, so they sometimes sit right on top of them.
Asian Bouquet
This lovely bouquet was handed to a Vietnamese Dominican Sister on the day of her profession of Perpetual Vows. The wrap was a kind of plastic-like paper that could hold the moisture of the flowers quite well, but of course, I was fascinated with the folds.
Winter Fairyland
Well, I haven’t seen so much fairyland this winter, so I was prompted to finish a year old painting. Some works need a lot more ruminating. This actually has more lavender in the foreground than my camera can capture.
Livin’ the Dream
Great Eagle
Here is the finished product of previous sketch. Something about this noble face drew me in. I found him in historic photos of black and white. I do not know his real name.
