From a photo by another Sister of Notre Dame, I painted this buttery rose. The inner golden glow enticed me the most. Sometimes oil painters leave part of the white canvas showing as I did here. I did, however, tone the center of the board with yellow orange and let it drip before I began to paint. This effect was used to create added interest and warmth.
