Symbiosis

18 x 24″ oil paint on stretched canvas

This large painting took a lot of paint and a lot of detail. I have wanted to do the stunning zebra with its formal attire for some time and dared the challenge of two! And because I wanted some movement in the quiet scene, I added the egrets. As the zebras nuzzle through and eat grass, the egrets feast off the insects stirred up around them. They also eat them off the backs of these wondrous creatures, so they sometimes sit right on top of them.

  1. This is absolutely stunning. You most certainly met the challenge successfully! You are definitely evolving as an artist and it is a pleasure to witness.

    1. Thank you, Sue. One does hope that as time and paintings go by, one does not get worse! Not so? Truly, I have always been intrigued by these awesome creatures.
