Hail to the Peeps

We are winding down on our weeks of celebrating the Easter Season in the Catholic Church, but you see, I still have some peeps. Some have gone the way of all peeps…consumed. Hard and chewy or soft and melty, how do you like them?
Grandad’s Watch

One of the treasures in my father’s house was the pocket watch of his father. My Grandfather was born not so long after the Civil War, so the watch is a link in time of so much history. It will now go to the next generation…to my brother Tom.
Pink and Purple Tulips

Finally the Spring birds are singing in the land, and the spring flowers awaken and lift their heads. Tulips are among the first always begging me to be painted. I must oblige.
Sun Tea

In the past, I painted this summer scene on a larger canvas; here I concentrated on the statement of the table and chairs in a small square format. The white wrought iron lines, the dappled light, and the bouquet all say ‘welcome.’
Elegance

This small painting is a preparation for a larger piece. I wanted to see if the lilies could be offset in a dramatic dark background, and it had the intended effect. When I do a larger piece, I will use what I learned from this experiment.
