Rose Warmth
Another rose gave me the opportunity to use luminous shadow color once again. I have been trying with these recent roses to light them from within.
Daisies Ala Rose
Each time I paint daisies, I work on obtaining beautiful shadow color and a free, unworked look to the flowers. Their simplicity could otherwise be lost. Maybe I get closer to the painter’s ideal with each practice? This little painting is from imagination only.
Drama Queens (Final Stage)
Technical difficulties have made me a bit late today, but here is the finish of Drama Queens. For some color variation and a cool oasis, I made the the table top lavenders. I also added lavender touches to the whole of the painting to give some balance to all the warms. Daffodil lovers of the world, unite!
Drama Queens (Stage 3)
In this phase of “Drama Queens” I worked on the shadow areas of the daffodils, and added some brighter lit areas to them as well. I developed the dark blue marbles in the vase and added the detail of brown peels from the original buds. At this point, I was not liking the yellowish table top, so it will get a change in the final stage.
Drama Queens (Stage 2)
In this second stage of painting, I deepened all the darks that will set off the glowing heads of the daffodils. I also gave the daffodils their “middle yellow” or the actual color they generally are.
